What are the most amazing hotels in the world, you ask?
That’s what we set out to find! We have scoured the world (ok, the web at least) and present you now what we think are the most amazing hotels in the world. With LOTS of photos!
The hotels are not listed in the order from the coolest to the uncoolest – they are all so unique you can’t possibly compare them with each other! Some are very weird, some gorgeously beautiful and some just very, very cool – though all of them very intriguing and certainly amazing.
1. The Manta Resort, Tanzania
What’s better than to wake up to a beautiful blue morning light from the window and see how the ocean folk has started their day? And then of course take a swim with them to ask for yourself. This place is truly a piece of paradise where you can relax and retreat from the surrounding world.

2. Lion Sands, South Africa
This beautiful resort offers safari tours (walking and driving), dinners under the stars, tours to the hippo pools, helicopter rides, relaxing treatments, you name it!

3. 727 Fuselage Hotel, Costa Verde, Costa Rica
Sleep in an airplane hotel that is not located in the most traditional surroundings for an airplane: in the middle of the jungle! Surely everyone will find something interesting in their activities list: tours around the jungle, waterfall rappelling, fishing, surfing, sailing, kayaking, yoga, parasailing, white water rafting and lots more.

This hotel has its own pets and if you leave a window open you might get a visit at your breakfast table!

7. Caravan Hotel Huttenpalast in Berlin, Germany
Miss summer? In the Caravan hotel you can camp even in the winter time!

8. Gamirasu Cave Hotel, Turkey
This cave hotel is located close to Urgup in the heart of Cappadocia, Ayvali village.The facilities were used as a monastic retreat in the Byzantine Era and was opened as a hotel in 1999.

9. Äscher Cliff, Switzerland
Well, obviously the views from this place are breathtaking! You get there with an aerial cableway from Wasserauen-Ebenalp in 15 minutes, though the hotel can also be reached by walking a passage that goes through some caves(!).

10. Glass Floor Udang House, Bali, Indonesia
This hut is situated above a fresh shrimp pond. There is also a fresh water fountain that supplies a natural pool. Here you can enjoy nature and silence, with just small bubbling from the fountain and tropical birds singing in the forest.

11. Hotel Kakslauttanen, Finland
Situated in the Lapland area of Finland, 155 miles / 250 km above the Arctic Circle, these glass igloos give you a view at the stars straight from your own bed and if you’re lucky enough – the beautiful Aurora Borealis aka the Northern Lights.

This surrealistic hotel with a beautiful interior design is located next to the Zaandam train station and is only 12 minutes from the city center.

This volcano-like (but with water pouring down its sides) eco-hotel emerges from the ground between the Southern Andes in the jungle. Relax in the nature.. maybe with a welcoming drink in the Spa facilities. 😉

15. Sala Silver Gruva, Sweden
The deepest hotel room in the world at the depth of 508,6 ft (155 m). It was carved 300 years ago by hand (not by dwarves though, as far as we know).

16. Atlantis The Palm Hotel & Resort, Dubai
This hotel offers a luxurious retreat to sleep with the fish. And we mean Diamond level luxury! One night in a Deluxe Guest Room costs from $320 up – so the underwater suites will probably be somewhat more. But you won’t be paying for nothing; after the opening in 2008 the place has won a variety of internationally renowned hospitality, travel and spa awards and is undoubtedly an amazing experience.

Feel like an ice queen or king and spend a night or more in this surreal and literally cool hotel. Unfortunately they only take reservations for the winter time.

This majestic honeymoon resort comes with a mesmerizing view that’s difficult to beat. The rooms are spacious with the bed next to the pool and an open balcony to the beautiful Caribbean scene.

20. Mustang Monument, Nevada,USA
Mustang Monument is a sustainable preserve for wild horses as well as a luxurious eco-resort. It is located just south of Wells, Nevada and is open from June 1st to September 30th. It offers its guests customized safari adventures, peace and an opportunity to connect with nature with a pinch of luxury added.

21. Tom Dixon’s Water Tower Apartment, London
The designer Tom Dixon bought an old 5,000 gallon water tank and renovated it into a fancy apartment. He’s now renting out the rooms on Airbnb at around $200/night.

22. Hobbit House, Sikhio, Thailand
Even though Hobbits aren’t that likely to enjoy the hot atmosphere of Thailand you can still imagine being one – maybe a hobbit on holiday. Airbnb rents out this accommodation for around $57/night. Gotta love it!

Star Wars fan? This cave hotel was where many of the sagas’ most memorable scenes were shot. According to the Tripadvisor reviews the hotel might me a bit outdated so make sure you are a true Star Wars fan (or otherwise adventurous) before booking. 😉

This adorable fairytale house is a romantic castle-inspired award winning boutique hotel with 4 rooms and a restaurant. The room rates are from AUD 900 up (USD $700 / EUR 620). Yep.

This dimly lit grandiloquent hotel opened in 2008 and got noticed on Conde Nast’s Red Hot List for best new hotels in the world.

26. Jumbo Stay, Stockholm, Sweden
If you have a whole night to wait for your connecting flight at the Arlanda airport why not sleep comfortably in this parked airplane? And why not check the cool hostel even if you’re staying in Stockholm. So, it is a hostel which means the toilets and showers are mainly shared except for the two suites and one single room. Also the wheelhouse single rooms have their own toilet.

This hotel is a car lover’s dream-come-true! It’s not only located in the place where the Automobile was born but in the very heart of the MOTORWORLD in Stuttgart. The beautiful church built in 1231 was renovated and turned very into a hotel that opened for guests in 2009. The place is an artistic performance built of stained-glass windows, arched ceilings, high pillars and the strong touch of history.
